How much do you pay your junk removal helpers?

Business is finally picking up and I can't keep doing every job by myself, my back is done lol. Thinking about bringing on a helper for the bigger cleanouts and estate jobs. How much are yall paying? Hourly, per job, cash? And do you put them on payroll or 1099? I'm in east Texas if that matters

$18/hr here in Houston with a 4 hour minimum so it's worth their time to show up. Good helpers are hard to find, if you get one that shows up on time take care of him

I pay per job, usually $80-150 depending on the size. Keeps them moving instead of dragging it out

Talk to an accountant about 1099 vs W-2 before you start. If you set their hours and give them the tools they might count as an employee. Also check if your insurance covers helpers getting hurt
